Why do I have to fill out a questionnaire before being interviewed by a prospective attorney?
It’s important when you’re meeting with an attorney that you can trust them. We’re bound by attorney client privilege, anything you tell us must be kept in confidence. It’s also important that if we’ve already given advice to your spouse or someone else related to you there might be a conflict of interest that would prevent us representing you. The initial information that you provide the attorney helps them to fully evaluate whether there’s a conflict, and more importantly help them understand your case from the beginning so that they can give you the best advice possible.
